Next time I go through customs in the US (so in about a month) I will say I have no food. Having to be searched another time in Newark airport sucks.

And I have the largest hate for the airport in Rome. Seriously, you have no idea. Apparently I look like a terrorist :(

Finally back in the US, thank goodness.

As much as I cannot wait to be home, I’m seriously going to miss Italy. I’ve met some of the most amazing people here and I’ve rediscovered myself. I kinda don’t want to leave this part of my life behind..

Studied for hours, upon hours for my two finals this morning. And, hopefully, it all went really well!! So happy to be done with summer classes! Jamming all the information into five short weeks was a killer, but I’m glad I got through it. Now I just have to wait a long time for the grades to come in.

Oh well, out to Bar Duomo tonight to celebrate! :)

I almost died inside. And my roommate tells me it’s a popular breakfast drink in Italy. I will never figure out the Italians..

Last Day Trip -- A Day in Firenze

Oh Florence… today was an adventure, as always. It began bright and early, like any other trip, but today was our last and final day trip of the program :( It was so bittersweet. First we went to a museum, in which I saw the David. I got yelled at for taking a picture of him, but I still got to sneak in two. After that we went to lunch and I had an American lunch (well, sort of..). I had some cooked sausages and french fries (using the term loosely) and it was delicious! I’ve noticed that I’m starting to get tired of pasta and lots of carbs..

Then for the afternoon, my roommate, a friend and I went around shopping and exploring. I got most of my souveniers there and got some pretty good deals! Overall, I’m extremely satisified with my purchases :)

The only thing that I didn’t like about Florence was the intense humidity by the river. I mean, the city is huge, and still very pretty, but I definitely could have done without the humidity.

Oh, and I touched the boar’s nose, meaning that I will one day return to Florence. (It’s a sculpture by the market, by the way). Get excited :)

Trip to Tarquinia

Yesterday was one of our last day trips, in which we went to Tarquinia to see the Etruscan tombs and then relax at the beach. The day began with looking at famous tombs that I have spent my time learning so much about. It was really cool but we were in the middle of no where and it was hot. We were all really excited for the beach.

Then we drove 10 minutes to the Sea, where I had an amazing, and cheap, pasta lunch overlooking the water. We all hurried away to the water. The sand was black and burnt your feet, but it felt really nice. There were many beautiful stones, red seaweed, and a shells (if you looked hard enough).

It all made me remember how much I miss the ocean. The water was like Jersey’s, but warmer! And the waves were soft :) Now I have a golden tan and I’m in a wonderful mood! It was a great day and I hope I can go back to the Mediterranean again before I leave!

So yesterday I took the hardest midterm/test of my lifeeeeee. I was gone all weekend and couldn’t study and had to stay up for hours to prepare, totally trying not to freak out.

I didn’t get my grade back yet today, but my teacher came up to me and said “Alana, thank you for a beautiful test. Your essay was wonderful.”

So yeah, basicalllllllly freaking out :)
